Petron taps 900-station network for Ingat Angat campaign

Local oil giant Petron Corporation ensured the support from its 900-station network for the Ingat Angat Tayong Lahat program.

The said program is a multi-sectoral bounce back campaign following the new economic norm brought about by the dreaded Covid-19 pandemic.

During the program launch, Petron Foundation General Manager Charmaine Canillas vowed support to the initiative. “As part of the San Miguel Group, we believe that the only way forward is together. Sama-sama sa laban, walang iwanan like we always say,” he said.

“Petron is a long-time partner in nation building and we are determined to keep doing our part to boost our economy while protecting our customers, our people, and our communities.”

As way of support, the 900 stations under the largest retail system locally will be displaying the Ingat Angat collaterals starting this month.

With safety as top priority, Ingat Angat is set to transform the current Filipino mindset of "learned helplessness" to one of "empowered vigilance” in the spirit of unity and camaraderie.

According to Petron Vice President for Retail Sales Archie Gupalor, they have implemented stricter safety protocols to ensure that its customers and personal remain free from the virus now that more vehicles are now on the road.

“We want our customers to always feel safe at our stations, fuel confidence in them, and help revive our economy as a result. On top of our already stringent safety standards, our personnel are required to wear face masks and face shields while practicing physical distancing. We also increased our sanitation activities and promote cashless payment to minimize contact between our service masters and our customers,” Gupalor explained.

Upon the breakout of the pandemic locally, Petron has done numerous tasks to ensure that the country would cope with the new normal such as ensuring a stable fuel supply, supporting health workers and other frontliners, helping its communities through food and other donations, and making essential food items available at its service stations together with its parent company, SMC.

Currently, Petron has donated P6.7 million worth of donations to medical frontliners as well as its scholars and communities. Of the said figure, Petron Value Card (PVC) holders donated P2 million which was utilized to provide full sets of much-needed PPEs as well as e-fuel cards and packed meals to medical and support personnel in major hospitals in the National Capital Region (NCR) with Petron Foundation at the forefront.

Petron also given fuel subsidy for the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for the free transport for medical workers and have also assisted in moving frontline workers and locally-stranded individuals.
