Replacement license plates delivered door-to-door in Bicol to expedite release

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) district branch in Iriga recently conducted a motor vehicle distribution drive, which saw the regional office deliver vehicle replacement plates to their respective owners. 

In the agency’s bid to expedite the release of license plates, its Chief Assistant Secretary, Attorney Vigor Mendoza II once considered using shopping malls as a distribution point for unclaimed license plates. 

Further, the agency also allowed those who requested for their drivers licenses to be printed to either have the plastic cars collected at LTO Central Office in Quezon City or send the plastic driver’s license through the courier service.

In a social media post, LTO Iriga District Office noted that the said initiative was conducted earlier this month and “involved a door-to-door delivery approach, ensuring that vehicle owners received their replacement plates directly at their homes.”

Relatedly, the Department of Transportation’s wing in the Cordillera Region organized barangay and house-to-house distribution of unclaimed license plates.

Having taken place last month, it covered locations namely the Upper, Middle, and Lower Quezon Hill, as well as Baguio City.

The move — DOTr Cordillera Region pointed out — was done so that the number plates were delivered to their rightful owners.

“The agency's unwavering commitment to public service exemplifies its efforts toward building a Bagong Pilipinas,” it wrote in a social media post.
