Single ticketing system pilot run in NCR starts today

Motorists (especially those in the Metro Manila area), consider this a gentle reminder: the single ticketing system in the National Capital Region (NCR) starts today (May 2, 2023).

    Under the single ticketing system, existing national and local laws on traffic enforcement, together with the penalties and fines of the most common traffic violations stated in the Metro Manila Traffic Code will be harmonized. Motorists can also settle the payments online.

    According to the MMDA, those who are slapped with obstruction, overloading, defective motor vehicle accessories, and disregarding traffic signs will face a P1,000-fine.

    Those caught illegally parked need to pay P1,000 if the driver is present or P2,000 and impoundment is the vehicle is unattended.

    Those who violated the unified vehicle volume reduction program (also known as number coding scheme) are to settle a P500-fine.

    MMDA Single ticketing system

    Additionally, tricycle drivers who will be apprehended for violating tricycle ban will pay P500 while, those arrested for reckless driving need to settle up P2,000 with seminar.

    Further, drivers who did not follow the truck ban has to pay up to P3,000 under the single ticketing system.

    Those who fail to follow the dress code for motorcycle riders are to face as much as a P1,000 fine. On the other hand, unauthorized modification on vehicles has a P2,000-fine while and discourteous conduct have a P500 and driver’s seminar course.

    EDSA

    Apprehending officers shall also penalize motorists with as much as P5,000 for illegal counterflow, and up to P5,000 with one-week suspension of driver’s license for improper use of seatbelts.

    Drivers who fail or use substandard child-restraint system shall face up to P5,000-penalty as well as a one-year driver’s license suspension.

    Riders who will not use helmets for the fourth time shall face a P10,000-punishment and license confiscation.

    For anti-distracted driving, motorists are to be disciplined with up to P20,000 fine and revocation of driver’s licenses.
