MANILA: The three-door version of the Suzuki Jimny gets some noteworthy updates for 2026.
According to the local wing of the Japanese carmaker, the compact, go-anywhere, off-roader has received new safety features, as well as convenience appointments.

There’s no denying that the Suzuki Jimny is one tough cookie, in fact, Zigwheels Philippines — Carmudi Philippines’ sister platform — took its five-door version to Lake Mapanuepe in Zambales.
You can read all about it, here.
On that note, it’s easy to understand why it’s considered the ultimate “toy for the big boy.” Further bolstering its outgoing and outdoorsy character is a feature that adds intelligent safety to its repertoire of strengths.
“This latest upgrade makes the beloved 4x4 not just trail-ready, but even more reassuring for everyday drives and long highway journeys,” Suzuki Philippines Incorporated wrote in a press release.

Leading the update is the Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II), which uses a camera and laser sensor to detect vehicles or pedestrians ahead. It works by issuing audio and visual warnings to the driver — and even automatically applying the brakes if necessary — when a potential collision is detected.
The company however clarified that DSBS II is limited to the ability of the monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar sensor to detect obstacles and lanes.
“Please do not rely on this system alone and always practice safe driving habits,” Suzuki Philippines Incorporated reminded its customers.
Other notable safety upgrades include the following:
The GL and GLX trim levels of the 2026 Suzuki Jimny 3-door now benefit from the addition of front side and curtain airbags. Front parking sensors are now standard across the range, making maneuvering in tight spaces easier, while the GL variant also gains a reverse camera for added convenience and visibility when backing up.

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated also bumped the size of the SUV’s infotainment screen.
Now measuring nine inches, the display is able to deliver a more modern and intuitive user experience.
Complementing the center screen is a newly updated colored display in the information cluster that replaces the previous red-orange graphics.
With the updated screens, the view of both the driver and front passenger is now made more modern while feeding them relevant information.
Under the hood of the 2026 Suzuki Jimny 3-door is the venerable 1.5-liter gasoline engine mated to either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic transmission.
The said setup produces approximately 100 horsepower and 130 Newton-meters of torque. The familiar feeling the powertrain system gives would-be owners of the latest iteration of the model ensures simple and straightforward use on both the highways and off the beaten path.

“With the integration of Suzuki Safety Support and meaningful comfort upgrades, the 2026 Jimny 3-door evolves into an even more well-rounded adventure companion — one that blends heritage, capability, and modern intelligence in a compact yet highly capable package,” Suzuki Philippines Incorporated wrote.
