The Land Rover Defender 90 is now available for viewing and test drives

After opening for pre-orders last year, the Land Rover Defender 90 is now available in the Philippines.

Coventry Motors Corporation (CMC) announced the arrival of vehicle, saying that the Defender 90 is ready for viewing and test drives at All British Cars (ABC) showrooms in EDSA Greenhills and at BGC Boutique Showroom in 5th Ave. corner 24^th Street.

The new Land Rover Defender was unveiled in the Asia back in August 2020.

Said to be the most capable Land Rover ever made, the Defender 90 is powered by an Ingenium D240 twin-turbocharged diesel engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The powerful powertrain combination is complemented by the vehicle’s independent front and rear suspensions with adaptive dynamics for “more refined comfort, and extraordinary all-terrain capabilities that allows drivers to select one of several modes that optimize performance on a variety of different surfaces," and class leading all-wheel-drive system, making it "unstoppable both off and on-road.”

But its capability to overcome any environment is also due to its overall design, which includes a short wheelbase and minimal overhangs, a 226mm ground clearance and the 850mm maximum wading depth.

To add to these off-road features, the vehicle has a wade-sensing system to provide further confidence to drivers when crossing deep water.

On dry land, Land Rover Defender’s advanced ClearSight Ground View technology gives the driver a view of the area usually hidden by the bonnet, directly ahead of the front wheels, on the central touchscreen.

“As a result, the new Defender redefines breadth of capability, raising the threshold for both off-road ruggedness and on-road comfort. It can negotiate crowded city streets as effortlessly as climbing mountains, crossing deserts and withstanding freezing temperatures. Its carefully honed handling delivers both a rewarding drive and first-class long-haul comfort across all terrains,” CMC shared in a statement.

Further, the new Defender wears Pivi Pro infotainment available in 10-inch touchscreen display. CMC noted that the “intuitive and user-friendly system requires fewer inputs to perform frequently used tasks, while the always-on design guarantees almost instant responses.”

Available with four accessory packs namely Urban, Country, Adventure, and Explorer the price for the new Defender 90 are as follows: 

• 90 2.0 S with Urban Pack: P5.690 million
• 90 2.0 S with Country Pack: P5.74 million
• 90 2.0 S with Adventure Pack: P5.82 million
• 90 2.0 S with Explorer Pack: P5.99 million.
