Toyota GR PH races currently ‘on hold’ due to fuel crisis

MANILA: The remaining races in the calendar of the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup are put on hold as the country faces a fuel crisis. 

On that note, Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines — Toyota Motor Philippines’ motorsport division — suspended all race activities until further notice. 

“In support of nationwide conservation efforts during the ongoing fuel crisis, Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines are committed to doing our part,” the race outfit wrote. 

“In cooperation with the Automobile Association of the Philippines’ initiative to suspend all sanctioned motorsports, we will be placing all upcoming racing events on hold until further notice,” it added.

Supposedly, the year’s calendar has three more races after the maiden event concluded on March 15 at Riverpark in Cavite. 

Below are the races that would have followed:

Second	July 9-11	Clark International Speedway
Third	August 13-15	Batangas Racing Circuit
Fourth	September 10-12	Clark International Speedway

State of National Energy Emergency 

At the time of writing, the country has been placed under “State of National Energy Emergency,” after President Ferdinand Marcos Junior signed Executive Order 110. 

That said, the Department of Energy must safeguard the country’s energy supply through courses of action such as implementing means to optimize fuel and energy use; adopting and enforcing energy conservation measures; and taking action against hoarding, profiteering, and supply manipulation.
