Toyota, Nintendo builds custom 2024 Grand Highlander with OLED Switch

Toyota has teamed up with Nintendo of America to build a custom 2024 Grand Highlander sport utility vehicle (SUV) slapped with an OLED Switch.

In addition, the vehicle comes with a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game complete with large screens, speakers, and a custom Mario Kart-themed wrap.

The custom-built 2024 Grand Highlander is currently on display at the ongoing Chicago Auto Show until February 19. Event-goers can check out the SUV and play games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe while at the Toyota booth.

“This is an amazing collaboration between Toyota and Nintendo. The Grand Highlander and the Nintendo Switch are the ultimate duo for families and road trips,” said Toyota Marketing Group Vice President Lisa Materazzo.

True enough, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander was touted as an SUV with spacious third-row seats. This means that young ones — and those young at heart — will have plenty of room to play with whether they’re in for short or long trips. And with a portable handheld console like the OLED Nintendo Switch, little passengers will remain engaged and entertained during the entire journey.

Gearheads who also happen to be gamers know that the OLED Switch has a similar overall size to the OG Nintendo Switch. However, it offers a larger, vibrant seven-inch OLED screen with vivid colors and crisp contrast. Just like Nintendo Switch, the OLED Model allows families to play on the TV and share the detachable Joy-Con controllers for right-out-of-the-box multiplayer fun — or take it on the go to enjoy its play-anywhere versatility.

“Nintendo Switch-OLED Model and the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game will add an extra boost of excitement to road trips this summer. What makes this promotion with Toyota so exciting is that the Nintendo Switch system can be played on the go, as well as on the TV, so anyone that hops in their Grand Highlander can take the system with them and keep the gameplay going,” commented Nintendo of America Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Communications Devon Pritchard.

Toyota and Nintendo will also give 500 2024 Grand Highlander owners an OLED Nintendo Switch console and a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game.

Those with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership can also pick up the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe-Booster Course Pass downloadable content that adds an additional 48 courses in six waves through the end of 2023.

Pricing and on-sale date of the all-new 2024 Grand Highlander, Toyota said, will be announced later within the coming summertime in the United States (from June to September).
