Toyota sells more than 7.5-M units globally from Jan.-Sep. 2023

Toyota Motor Corporation has sold 7,571,733 vehicles from January to September of 2023.

Compared to the Aichi-headquartered auto firm’s sales in the same time period last year (7,098,805 units), this year’s sales report reflected a 6.7 percent increase in its overall global vehicle sales.

In the same way, Toyota’s overall domestic and overseas sales also improved. In the first nine months of 2022, it only sold 966,412 units domestically and 6,132,393 automobiles outside the country. This year, it was able to sell 1,284,065 automobiles in Japan and 6,287,668 cars in other parts of the globe.

Set side-by-side with this year’s numbers, it revealed a 32.9-percent improvement in domestic sales and a 2.5-percent growth in overseas sales.

For September alone, Toyota was able to sell 921,308 worldwide with 144,246 cars handed over to Japanese buyers and a total of 777,062 units sold outside of the country.

Per Toyota, its September 2023 sales revealed an 11.6 increase compared to its recorded transactions in the same month in 2022.

No mention of what models drove the company’s sales for the aforementioned months. In the Philippines, however, some of Toyota’s best-selling models include nameplates such as the Vios, Wigo, Avanza, Innova, Fortuner, and Hilux.
