MANILA: Honda Cars Philippines Incorporated (HCPI) might introduce the all-new Prelude this weekend — specifically at the second edition of this year’s Honda Fest.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What hint led to the possible launch of the Honda Prelude in the Philippines?

Honda Cars Philippines released a photo showing a covered photo of a car that will be launched at the upcoming second edition of this year's Honda Fest.
  • When and where will the latest Honda Fest be held?

The event is set on December 5-7 at the Festival Mall in Muntinlupa.
  • In a statement, the company shared that as part of the special treat to celebrate its 35th anniversary, it will preview “the prelude to its future”, which it considered as the start of its journey towards a “new era of electrification.”

Further, a photo was posted over its official social media page showing a fleet of Honda cars with one covered. The wrapped car comes with a long hood — which is probably the anticipated liftback coupe given the flowing silhouette.

Such a prediction seems to be connected to HCPI President Rie Miyake’s early announcement that it will introduce the returning nameplate “soon.”

While waiting for the official announcement, here are some details about the yet-to-be-launched Honda Prelude.

    Prelude specifications

On paper, the six-generation Honda Prelude comes with the following measurements:

Overall dimensions (length, width, height in millimeters)

    4,520 x 1,880 x 1,355

    Wheelbase (in mm)

    2,605

    Wheel track (in mm)

    • Front: 1,625
    • Rear: 1,615

    Ground clearance (in mm)

    135

Based on what was seen at the Japan Mobility Show, the Honda Prelude wears a low and sharp front fascia, hidden door handles, 19-inch wheels, and a light bar that connects the taillamps.

Powering the car is a 2.0-liter e:HEV powertrain. This configuration enjoins a two-liter direct inject gasoline-fed engine and two electric motors — allowing the drivetrain to provide:

Engine maximum output (in horsepower [hp>)

    141

Engine peak torque (in Newton-meters [Nm>)

    186

Electric motor maximum output (in hp)

    181

Electric motor peak torque (in Nm)

    315

The drivetrain is mated to Honda’s bespoke S+ Shift technology that gives virtual gear changes. It also has paddle shifters on the steering wheel that gives manual control.

Thanks to the said setup, the all-new Honda Prelude has the capability to reach speeds of up to 188 kilometers per hour or fuel consumption of 23.6 kilometers per liter (based on Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Cycle standards).

For its interior, the car comes with sport seats at the front (with low side support), leather portion on the dashboard and door panels, a pair of digital screens, and an Alcantara leather-covered multi-function steering wheel.

Carmudi Philippines is expecting that the Honda Prelude will be priced just slightly higher than the Civic Type R (which is down to final units as of September 2025.

    2nd edition Honda Fest 2025

    — is in line with HCPI’s celebration of its 35th anniversary and “appreciation for the trust and support Filipinos have shown Honda over the years.”

Apart from the expected car launch, the second edition of the Honda Fest — set on December 5-7 at the Promenade Parking of the Festival Mall — will showcase well-loved previous generations of its current models, as well as the latest models equipped with modern technology, such as Honda CONNECT, Honda SENSING and the e:HEV full hybrid system.

During the three-day event, the public may test drive the following models around the venue:

Special aftersales activities will also be conducted such as oil change activities as well as free 20-point check-ups.

Clients can also avail 35-percent discounts on Pro Honda Fully Synthetic Oil, drain plug washers, and oil filters — but on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to technician availability.

The Honda Fest will also provide the public with the opportunity to see the Pro Honda line —starting with its engine oil products. It can be recalled that Pro Honda was first introduced in 2023 solely for motorcycles but has been expanded for use in automobiles as part of HCPI’s bid to improve overall customer and ownership journey.

Lastly, Honda’s local motorcycle arm will also showcase the EM1 e: and CUV e: available onsite.
