Sojitz G Auto Philippines (SGAP) announced the first promotional campaign for the seven-seater Geely Okavango since its introduction late last year.
The Okavango, which the company described with the acronym BIG (bold, ingenious, and gorgeous), will have its test drive promotion from this month until the end of June.
Dubbed as Go BIG with Your Test Drive promo, Geely clients who will test drive the Okavango have a chance to win gadgets such as an Apple Watch, CTEK MXS 5.0 bundle, and Shell fuel card with ₱5,000 worth of load. SGAP said that it will draw five winners per Geely dealership for a total of 80 winners who will receive any of the said items.

Positioned as having “wonderfully distinct” features, the Geely Okavango is aimed to giving the market the features of an SUV and an MPV packaged into a seven-seater crossover.
Powering the Okavango (known as Hao Yue in its home country) is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated turbo engine (jointly developed by Geely and Volvo) that is paired to a seven-speed wet-type dual clutch transmission.
It has a mild hybrid system, thanks to its 48V Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) technology that further boosts the vehicle performance and enhances fuel efficiency. This powertrain engineering can provide peak performance of 190hp and 300Nm torque.
Last year, SGAP General Manager for Sales Froilan Dytianquin said that the company is eyeing to reach 300-400 units in sales for the newly released model, which is set to against the go against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero, Isuzu Mu-X, Hyundai Santa Fe, among others.
SGAP recently brought the latest variant for the nameplate, the Okavango Urban Plus, which has 60-inch Panoramic Sunroof, and other technological features.
