Here are the quick getaway destinations for Holy Week, according to Prestone

The Holy Week is here, and everyone is surely looking forward to having that rest to contemplate and recharge both mind and body.

With hot and humid temperatures expected to rise further, below are some of the  areas in Luzon that we can head to, as shared by auto car fluid expert Prestone.

Batangas beaches

First in the list is Batangas. Those residing in Metro Manila easily consider the province as one of their immediate go-to areas for a quick vacation as they can easily reach their destination with just two hours of travel time.

Aside from the Taal Volcano attraction, the province boasts incredible beaches. Nasugbu, Lemery, Lian, and San Juan, among others, offer various water activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, while Anilao in Mabini is a known spot for scuba diving.

While in the area, delicacies like Loming Batangas and Kapeng Barako,and other remarkable attractions like Fantasy World, and Fortune Island should also be checked out.

 

La Union waves

Next is La Union (commonly called as Elyu). Approximately four hours away from the National Capital Region (NCR), the province is a famous surfing spot in the upper portion of the country.

For one, La Union’s San Juan municipality is known for the giant waves that go as high as 10-feet, making it the surfing capital in northern Luzon.

Fun activities in Zambales

Next is Zambales. Four hours north of NCR, the area (located in the Central Luzon area), is thriving with beaches, coves that offer extreme water sports, hiking, cliff diving, and more.

However, if a unique underwater is in one’s targeted itinerary, the province also has numerous wreck diving sites from the Spanish-American War up to World War II.

Beat the heat in Baguio

Dubbed the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City is a popular destination should there be blistering heat in the metro. Just four hours of travel time from Metro Manila, The City of Pinas has a very cool temperature that ranges from 15-23 degrees Celsius and up to 26 degrees Celsius during summertime.

The area is also home to tall pine trees on the hillsides, green parks, and other fun attractions. Among the spots to visit are Burnham Park, Camp John Hay, and Baguio Cathedral.
