Honda Cars PH Debuts Updated Honda BR-V
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda’s automobile unit in the Philippines, has updated the Honda BR-V, giving it a raft of upgrades to keep up with the competition. After all, it was the first SUV/MPV in the local market when it debuted in late 2016.

Up front, the BR-V gets a new chrome grille and a new front bumper, giving this high-riding MPV a fascia that resembles that of the current-generation CR-V. Also new is the headlight design that now features a kink, giving it a slimmer look, with new LED daytime running lights for the range-topping V variant and halogen headlights and fog lights for both variants. Also new is the rear bumper while up on the roof, a new shark fin antenna gives the V variant a "masculine and premium look." Completing the new exterior look are the newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels. Inside, both the entry-level S and range-topping V variants are equipped with a seven-inch capacitive touchscreen display, with the latter's being compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For added convenience, both variants do get a reverse camera. The V variant also gets a new stylish leather interior, with red leather accents added to the seats and door panel armrest and red stickers on the steering wheel and shift knob. To complete the refreshed interior design, the decor has been improved and changed into Dark Steel. Still powering the BR-V is the same 1.5-liter  i-VTEC engine as before that puts out 118 hp and 145 Nm of torque. Mated to it is Honda's Earth Dreams Technology continuously variable transmission (CVT) that "delivers a smooth, refined and fuel-efficient driving performance." The V variant comes with Smart Entry with Push Start System for convenience and paddle shifters for an engaging driving experience. Honda's Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light, is also available to help encourage drivers to drive efficiently. The new BR-V also espouses safety with its multitude of safety features. First and foremost is its G-force Control (G-CON) Collision Safety Body that dissipates G-forces in the event of a crash and disperses it away from the vehicle’s occupants on impact. Second is that standard for both variants are the driver and front passenger SRS Airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) that prevents wheel lock during sudden braking; Hill Start Assist (HSA) that prevents the car from rolling backward when the vehicle moves from a static position on an incline; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) that restricts sideway skidding during cornering; and Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock that automatically locks the doors when the vehicle accelerates. The new BR-V also comes with ISO-FIX Anchors that securely fastens a child seat in the cabin. The new Honda BR-V is now available at all 38 Honda dealerships nationwide and comes in six colors:
  • Platinum White Pearl (1.5 V CVT only) (New color at an additional PHP20,000)
  • Passion Red Pearl (1.5 V CVT only) (New color)
  • Taffeta White (1.5 S CVT only)
  • Lunar Silver Metallic
