MIAS 2019: Chevrolet PH Launches All-New, Sixth-Generation Chevrolet Camaro

The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet automobiles and parts in the Philippines, brings an exhilarating driving experience for car enthusiasts as it unveiled the all-new Chevrolet Camaro at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The launch of the Camaro marks the return of the iconic muscle car in the Philippines. First introduced in the country in 2010, the Camaro shows off its aggressive new looks combined with renowned performance and enhanced technology.

"We are extremely proud to have another Chevrolet global icon in our vehicle portfolio," said Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, President and Chief Executive Officer, TCCCI. "The Camaro is the paragon of Chevrolet's unwavering commitment in bringing forth vehicles with exceptional design and unparalleled engineering."

The Chevrolet Camaro, together with the Chevrolet Corvette, Chevrolet Trailblazer Z71, the new Chevrolet Trailblazer Phoenix, and Chevrolet Colorado High Country Storm are on display at the Chevrolet Icon Hub at the 2019 MIAS from April 4 to 7, 2019.

Iconic to Its Core

The Chevrolet Camaro is more than just an American muscle car. It has helped shape the automotive industry in the US, inspired generations of performance car enthusiasts, and even influenced pop culture--making the Camaro a highly-coveted vehicle to this very day.

Born out of competition, the Camaro was designed to be a leader in the personal coupe market. Since Chevrolet sold the first Camaro in 1967, more than 5 million units of the vehicle have conquered open and city roads in various parts of the world. In a span of more than 50 years and six generations, the Camaro has won various accolades including Motor Trend's 2014 Best Driver’s Car award--making the vehicle the first American-brand car to receive it.

Today, the Camaro continues to dominate the road with its thrilling driving dynamics and fierce sporty design.

The Heart of a Sports Car

The latest Camaro RS offering from Chevrolet Philippines is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC VVT direct injection turbo engine that delivers 275 horsepower and 398 Nm of torque. Coupled with an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, the Camaro inspires a responsive and efficient everyday drive on the freeway.

The Camaro is fitted with high-performance Brembo brakes featuring four-piston calipers, promising track enthusiasts with serious stopping power while maintaining street drivability.

The Mark of An Athlete

The Camaro was designed to be an iconic masterpiece. With its sculpted hood, boldly reimagined grilles, piercing LED headlamps, heritage-inspired taillamps, and muscular flanks, the high-performance vehicle is guaranteed to make an unmistakable impression on the road.

Complementing its dramatic and contemporary architecture is the RS package that highlights the Camaro's sporty attitude. Five-spoke, 20-inch machined wheels, LED tail lamps, decklid spoiler, polished honeycomb grille, illuminated Camaro sill plates, RS badge, and black front and rear Chevrolet bowtie emblems complete the Camaro's athletic style.

Inside, the sixth-generation muscle car features a refined cockpit optimized for performance driving--leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, black leather interior panel, and custom leather-trimmed dashboard and console. The driver sport buckets memory seat features an eight-way power adjust and ventilated with cooling and heating, while the passenger sport buckets seat features a six-way power adjust with cooling and heating ventilation.

A Modernized Muscle

The Camaro offers premium and intuitive technologies that complete one's driving experience. Slated with an eight-inch touchscreen display featuring the latest Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, the vehicle allows for hands-free access information, entertainment, and phone connectivity. The Camaro is fitted with premium Bose nine-speaker sound system to further elevate the driving experience inside the vehicle.

The Camaro comes with a digital pit crew through its Head-Up Display, which offers three different views and projects data near your line of sight on the windshield. Its adjustable positioning and brightness keep the driver informed on speed, turn-by-turn directions, audio information, fuel level, and gear selection while focusing on the road ahead.

Its eight-inch reconfigurable driver information display with digital and analog gauges links to Driver Mode Selector that allows one to choose between various vehicle characteristics for a full customized driving experience.

A Winner in Safety

The Camaro makes road safety a top priority. The American muscle car is packed with a host of advanced safety technologies including StabiliTrak System, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Engine Immobilizer, Rear Parking Sensors, and built-in Reversing Camera. The Camaro also comes with a special Chevrolet warranty of five years or 100,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

The Chevrolet Camaro 2.0-liter Turbo 3LT RS is now available at PHP3,298,888.00.
