2022 Manila International Auto Show

Two months from now, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) will again be held as an on-site event.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • When and were will the 2022 Manila International Auto Show be held?

It will be held this coming April 7-10 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
  • How many visitors are expected to be at the event?

Co-organizer Alvin Uy said that they are targeting to reach around 100,000 visitors to be at the four-day event.
  • As posted over its official Facebook page, MIAS — considered as one of the biggest motoring events in the country — is scheduled from April 7 to 10, 2022 at the World Trade Center in Pasay.

“Set your gears in motion as your favorite car show in Manila is back to show you the latest car launches, jaw-dropping car designs, and more at MIAS!” the social media post stated.

“Pre-registration will start soon. Stay tuned and follow us for more details,” it added.

Many gearheads and local automotive aficionados immediately got excited about the news as a few hours after the announcement was posted, it already had 602 shares, 327 comments and more than 1,200 reactions.

“With the improving current situation and lower number of new cases plus the increasing number of vaccinated individuals thanks to the government's aggressive campaign, we are confident that we can already stage the MIAS once again after a two-year hiatus. We discussed this initially with our exhibit partners and many of them agree that we can hold on-ground events once again, under the guidelines of the new normal,” Worldbex Managing Director Jill Ang said.

Meanwhile, MIAS co-organizer Alvin Uy said that for this year, they are targeting substantial figures for both presenters and visitors.

“In 2019, we had over 200 companies who joined — including car manufacturers and distributors. This year, we hope to achieve at least 80 to 90 percent of the 2019 figures. As to the visitors, we had over 142,000 visitors that year. We are targeting at least 70-percent of it, or about 100,000 visitors,”Uy told Carmudi Philippines.

In December 16-20, 2020, MIAS has launched the first virtual motor show in the country, which was then called MIAS Wired.
