  • When is the 55th Asian Development Bank Annual Meeting?

The event will be on September 26-30.
  • In a statement, MMDA Acting Chairman Engr. Carlo DimayugaIII said that the members of the Task Force Traffic Management will be in-charge of mitigating congestion to ensure the seamless movement of delegates from the airport to the billeting hotels, venues, and other engagement areas, and vice versa, at the least inconvenience to the general public.

MMDA traffic enforcers will be deployed along the route of the convoy transporting the delegates.

“No roads will be closed for the five-day meeting but motorists may expect traffic disruptions at the Ortigas area and other affected routes,” Dimayuga was quoted as saying.

    Driving along EDSA

The agency said that the occasional traffic disruptions could be experienced along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) from Magallanes to Ortigas, Julia Vargas, ADB Avenue, San Miguel Avenue, Guadix Drive, Bank Drive, and Saint Francis Street whenever delegates’ convoy from the airport to Ortigas area passes.

To note, around 300 delegates are expected to attend the event.

Further, a special ADB lane will be put up for the delegates’ convoy on September 28-29 along Saint Francis and Bank Drive.

Meanwhile, the delegates are allowed to use the inner lane of EDSA (Busway Carousel Lane) from Guadalupe to Ortigas portion.

Moreover, the MMDA Road Emergency Group — in coordination with the Office of the Civil Defense, Department of Health, Bureau of Fire Protection — will be on standby to provide emergency assistance.

Aside from the MMDA, the Philippine National Police, Mandaluyong and Pasig local government units, as well as the security forces of the Ortigas Center will also go hand in hand to implement traffic directions and control along the ADB routes.
