New Guibang-Gamu Bypass Road eases traffic in Gamu, Isabela

The construction of the Guibang-Gamu Bypass Road in Isabela has been completed and is ready to serve as an alternative road for the usually-congested Daang Maharlika.

Those who are going to the pilgrimage town usually visited by patrons of Our Lady of Guibang Shrine can have a shorter travel time by redirecting their route to the newly-constructed bypass road.

In a statement, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) the newly-completed road had a P41-million budget under the 2018 and 2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

Public works and highways Secretary Mark Villar cited the report from DPWH Regional Office 2 OIC-Director Loreta Malaluan, saying that the project has been finished since December last year. The said road is a 1.24-kilometer concrete road with four lanes, 13.4-meter carriageway width, and 300-millimeter thickness.

According to the DPWH chief, the new road is aimed to provide more convenience to motorists, attract more tourists and investors, generate jobs, and support peace and order in Gamu, Isabela.
