Son rises as new Hyundai Motor PH helm

Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) is now under the helm of Jiho Son.

In a letter, HMPH Managing Director Cecil Capacete announced that new leader has been welcomed to the position following the transition to new management previously led by its former president Dongwook Lee.

For two years, Lee spearheaded the company’s operations in the country since the brand had its re-introduction in the middle of 2022.

Under Lee’s tenure, HMPH was able to achieve a 32.4-percent increase this year and grew its dealer network to 34 — with more to come in the next couple of months.

It was also during his stint that the marque launched various nameplates in the country that helped establish the brand’s image as “a trusted automotive partner in the country.”

Son’s credentials

Meanwhile, Capacete shared that the new president — who started office as of October 15 — has an extensive experience that made him capable for the position.

Per the company’s managing director, Son previously served as the Head of Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore Sales Innovation Group.

Prior to his service in Singapore, Son also led the India and Asia-Pacific Sales Support Team.
