With fuel prices constantly fluctuating high and low (mostly high), many car buyers are eager for new fuel-efficient vehicle options that deliver low gas mileage while providing high quality comfort and features, and competitive pricing to boot. Hyundai, a South Korean car brand, has been known to sell cars that come with these three customer-friendly qualities.
In February of this year, five Hyundai cars attained impressive scores at the
DOE Euro 4 Fuel Efficiency Eco Run held by the Department of Energy. The scores ensure that the five Hyundai cars listed below are some of the most efficient new-car buying options available. Without further ado, take a look at the top 5 most fuel efficient Hyundai cars and what they have to offer.

29.41 km/L rating, easily beating the other cars in the A-Segment, even those that were considerably smaller and lighter than Hyundai’s candidate. The Hyundai sedan also bested its competitors in the B-Segment despite having the highest engine displacement at 1.6L (it ran against engines with displacements between 1.3L and 1.5L)

The final entry in the top 5 most fuel efficient Hyundai cars is the Hyundai Santa Fe. in the mid-size SUV category, the Santa Fe CRDi diesel engine ranked second, scoring an impressive fuel consumption rating of 22.76 km/L. The Santa Fe’s high rank came as a surprise considering it had one one of the most powerful engines among the SUV entries. Nevertheless, it scored exceptional fuel efficiency.
The good news is that fuel efficiency is not the only positive thing that these cars have to offer--they also score well in other areas that are sure to entice the even the most fuel-conscious car buyers. So if you’re in the market for a fuel-efficient car that comes well-packaged and can offer higher-priced peers a run for their money, the 5 Hyundai cars listed above are a reasonable purchase.
