Toyota says Japan production facilities to be fully operational by Dec. 2021
Toyota has announced that all its production facilities in its home country will return to normal operations before the year ends.

The automotive manufacturer plans to hit nine million vehicles produced by March 31, 2022.In a statement, the Japanese automotive manufacturer said that such a move is expected to reach the 800,000-unit production globally, “including the recovery from the impact of the previous production cutbacks.”
“At Toyota, we have made repeated adjustments to our production plans since August due to a shortage of parts resulting from the spread of COVID-19, causing various inconveniences to all parties concerned. We would like to express our gratitude to all parties concerned for their immense support in helping us maintain production,” the company noted.
“As a result of the cooperation of our suppliers, all 14 plants and 28 production lines in Japan will be operating normally for the first time in seven months since May. In addition, we will continue to maintain our production forecast of nine million units for the fiscal year. (Reference: Global production volumes were approximately 760,000 units in December 2020),” it added.
Toyota’s fiscal year is up to March 31, 2022.
Further, Toyota said that it will continue to strengthen the supply chain with its suppliers to ensure the delivery of as many units to customers as quickly as possible.
