Toyota to donate ¥50-M to aid earthquake relief ops

Toyota will be donating ¥50 million to aid the earthquake relief operations in Japan.

According to the carmaker, the said amount will be handed over to the Japanese Red Cross Society, the Central Community Chest of Japan, Japan Platform, and a specified non-profit organization.

In addition to the said sum, Toyota noted that it will also donate the amount of money raised through its employees’ fundraising activities to support the disaster-affected areas.

Further, the automotive brand said that it will work with vehicle dealers, Toyota Rental and Leasing stores, as well as Toyota Mobility Parts to provide relief supplies, vehicle loans, and disaster relief volunteers to the municipalities struck by the earthquake.

“We will work to provide appropriate support while carefully identifying what sort of aid is needed the most,” Toyota said in a press release.

“We will continue to provide aid that is needed by consulting with the government, local governments, and support groups, as well as carefully confirming the local situation,” the company added.

Recently, Toyota announced that it will continue operations in its Japanese facilities after the earthquake.

Global media outlets reported that the earthquake that hit Japan was 7.5 in magnitude and destroyed infrastructures as well as claimed several lives of those living in the Noto Peninsula.
