Toyota to reveal new Crown on Jul. 15

The Toyota Crown is considered to be one of the most popular executive sedans to bear the Toyota badge. Since its introduction in 1955, the Toyota Crown has become a symbol of Asian luxury, comparable to several models offered by Mercedes.

Recently, Toyota announced that it is to reveal a new Crown later this month via a digital world premiere. The said premiere will take place on July 15.

Word on the web says that the upcoming Crown will depart from its traditional body style and will come in the form of an SUV. Furthermore, fans of the brand say that the new Crown SUV will initially be released with a hybrid and a plug-in powertrain and will later be offered in full electric.

Toyota said that it had set up a special site for the upcoming Crown where people can watch its world premiere. Upon visiting the site, customers will be greeted by a short video saying “Sedan? SUV?” implying that the forthcoming premiere might reveal some type of crossover.

More details are expected to be revealed when Toyota unveils the new Crown.
