About BMW Philippines

BMW came into existence in the year 1916 when the German company started off with building aircraft during World War I. Soon after, it began producing car and motorcycle engines, and ultimately, automobiles as well. The German automaker entered the Philippines automobile industry in 1993 and is currently managed by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMCACDC), which is a wholly-owned Filipino company under San Miguel Corporation and the official importer, distributor, and service provider of BMW automobiles and motorbikes in the Philippines.

The current BMW cars lineup in the Philippine boasts as many as 20 different models including the X4, X6, X5, X3, X1, and X2 (Crossovers), M4 Coupe, 4 Series Gran Coupe, and M2 Coupe Competition (Coupes), 2 Series Gran Tourer (MPV), 7 Series Sedan, 3 Series Gran Turismo, 3 Series Sedan, M5, 5 Series Sedan, M3 Sedan, and 6 Series Gran Turismo (Sedans), Z4, and X7 (SUVs), and the 1 Series (Hatchback).

In 2019, BMW managed to sell 920 cars across the Philippines, which was an increase of 81.10% compared to the year 2018, where the German automaker could only sell 412 units throughout the year. The stats by CAMPI, TMA, and AVID also reported that BMW grabbed a 0.22% market share in the Philippine automobile market in 2019.
