Mazda cars in Metro Manila
Mazda is a Japanese car brand known for its innovative engineering and sporty design. Over the years, Mazda’s trademark has always been its vehicles’ class-leading speed and acceleration, hence the company’s marketing slogan “zoom-zoom”.
In Metro Manila, Mazda is one of the preferred car brands among car enthusiasts. One of its breakthrough racing units, the Mazda Furai concept, has a top speed of 340 kilometers per hour and can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 3.7 seconds.
Traits to like about Mazda
There are few brands in the market that can combine two of the most eminently desirable traits any car buyer is looking for- thrilling performance and affordability. Mazda is a brand that has been able to combine these characteristics successfully in each of their models, ranging from subcompacts to pickups.
The technology used by most Mazda vehicles such as the Mazda CX-5, Mazda 2 and Mazda 6 is called Skyactiv Technology. Models under the Skyactiv umbrella have increased fuel economy and lower carbon emissions, similar to the efficiency of cars with hybrid drivetrains.
Among the particular designs involved in Skyactiv Technology are: lighter weight manual transmissions, a two-stage turbocharger, better automatic transmission, electric power steering and lightweight body designs.
Partnership with UAAP
In its campaign to promote their fleet of vehicles, particularly units equipped with Skyactiv Technology, Mazda launched a partnership with UAAP 76 season. Mazda employed top players from five basketball teams in the league and had them drive a Mazda 3 for free for a year.
Another promotional strategy that Mazda has concocted is going to car clubs and bloggers to promote their cars via several fuel-economy runs.
Dealership in Metro Manila
In 2013, Mazda Philippines was revamped and the distribution rights of Mazda products were acquired by Berjaya Auto Philippines (BAP), a Malaysian-led conglomerate. In the same year, BAP officially opened its first dealership under its name in Pasig City. This further boosted the grip of Mazda in the National Capital Region’s dealer network that includes the cities of Quezon, Makati, Muntinlupa and San Juan.
