‘Florita’ leaves 7 roads in CAR, Region 2 temporarily impassable

    Based on the report from the department’s Bureau of Maintenance, six of the aforementioned roads that were left impassable due to landslide, fallen trees, and flooding are in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and one in the Cagayan Valley (Region 2).

    As of noontime today, the following road sections in CAR are closed to all types of vehicles

    • Claveria-Calanasan-Kabugao Road, K0717+500-K0717+570, Namaltugan, Calanasan, Apayao due to road cut and soil collapse;
    • Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue, K0387+450 Beto Section, Tue, Tadian, Mountain Province due to rock collapse;
    • Mountain Province-Ilocos Sur via Tue, K0387+450 Beto Section, Tue, Tadian, Mt. Province due to slope collapse;
    • Abra Kalinga Road K0470+500 and K0474+000 sections in Subagan, Baay-Licuan, K0480+900 and K0481+050 sections in Duldulao, Malibcong, Abra due to soil collapse;
    • Itogon-Dalupirip Road, K0265+100, Sitio Twin River, Poblacion, Itogon, Benguet due to soil collapse and fallen trees; and
    • Bado Dangwa National Road K0338+500 - K0338+550 in Ampusongan and K0349+100 - K0349+150, Gakian, Gambang, in Bakun, Benguet due to soil collapse.

    In Region 2, the Cabagan-Sta. Maria Road, Cabagan Overflow Bridge was closed due to high water elevation.

    Meanwhile, the national government advised that about 20 roads are currently one-lane passable due to slope collapse and landslides:

    • Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road, K0288+200 Ambuklao, Bokod, Benguet due to soil collapse;
    • Asin-Nangalisan-San Pascual-La Union Boundary Road, K0262+920 Sitio Lasong, Brgy.Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet due to rock fall with fallen trees;
    • Apayao-Ilocos Norte Road, K0623+600, Madatag, Kabugao, Apayao due to landslide;
    • Itogon-Dalupirip Road, K0267+950, Brgy. Tinongdan, Itogon, Benguet due to soil collapse;
    • Congressman Andres Acop Cosalan Road, K0321+575, Sitio Batengan, Brgy. Adaoay, Kabayan, Benguet due to soil collapse;
    • Nueva Vizcaya-Ifugao- Mountain Province Boundary Road, several sections in Bolog, Kiangan; Cudog, Lagawe; Namulditan, Hingyon, Ifugao due to rock collapse;
    • Kiangan-Tinoc-Buguias Road, several sections in Poblacion and Julongan, Kiangan; Gumhang and Ap-apid, Tinoc, Ifugao due to soil collapse;
    • Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road a. K0378+400 and K0379+500, Abatan, Hungduan, Ifugao due to soil collapse;
    • Mountain Province-Calanan-Pinukpuk-Abbut Road (Cagaluan-Calanan Section), K0481+370 Bagumbayan, Tabuk City, Kalinga due to clogged drains with mud flow;

    • Luna-Bangar Road K0304+715- K0310+1018 in La Union is not passable to light vehicles due to flooding;
    • Santa Rancho Road, Calungbuyan Bridge in Ilocos Sur due to slight settle down of approaches and damaged embankment slope protection;
    • Tagudin-Cervantes Road, intermittent sections due to landslide;
    • Junction Santiago-Banayoyo-Lidlidda-San Emilio- Quirino Road, intermittent sections due to landslide;
    • Cervantes-Aluling-Bontoc Road, K0387+950, Brgy. Aluling, Cervantes, Ilocos Sur due to damaged slope protection; and the
    • Junction Candon-Salcedo-del Pillar Road K0362+600 and K0362+930 due to damaged pavement and landslide.

    A total of 990 personnel with 117 equipment from DPWH CAR, Regions 1 and 2 have been deployed to ensure swift clearing and reopening of affected national roads and bridge.

    To note, the latest tropical storm is the country’s sixth tropical cyclone for the year.
