But why does it seem that every time we wash our cars, the chance of a rain shower always looms over the horizon? Let’s find out if giving your car a bath does attract rain.

We wash our cars more often during the rainy season

One of the reasons why we think washing our cars attracts rain is because the need to wash them is more during the rainy season. Not only is the combination of road dust and rain can make your car look dirty, but it can also be bad for the paint.

Leaving rainwater on your car’s surface can leave watermarks that may be difficult to remove if not attended to immediately. Additionally, washing the wheel arches can prevent the unnecessary accumulation of dirt.

We are more observant after a car wash

It’s only natural for car owners to be more observant of the weather after giving their cars a wash, especially if they did it themselves.

Imagine having to spend hours washing the paint, brushing the tires, and even applying wax on your ride, only for a bit of rain to waste the time you’ve put in. While the process of caressing your automobile can at times be therapeutic, the idea that you’ve just wasted hours of your day can be disappointing.

We don’t want to waste money

A standard wash can cost you anywhere from P150 to P300. Throw in detailing, and you’re looking at a bill that’s around P1,500 to P3,000.

That said, all that money you’ve spent for a wash will be wasted by a simple act of nature. That money could have been used for fuel, fluids, and even for parts to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape.

And you’re not wrong for feeling bad about wasting your money. Even high rollers must feel some form of dismay about throwing away their hard-earned dough.
