Joyride eyes to roll out car-hailing service by end of Mar.

Joyride Car

Joyride, the first and only homegrown superapp in the country, is eyeing to roll out its four-wheel ride-hailing service by the end of March.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the Joyride Car service?

It is Joyride’s new service that will allow commuters to hail four-wheeled vehicles.
  • When is Joyride Car’s target rollout?

It is expected to be rolled out by the end of March.
  • When launched, Joyride will be providing the riding public another option in the car-hailing industry.

Joyride Senior Vice President for Corporate Affairs Noli Eala said that the newly-revealed Joyride Car service will cover Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, and Metro Cebu. "But we will be wherever the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will allow," he said during a press conference.

Eala said that it will give commuters “another choice for safe, comfortable, and affordable car rides to their destination despite the ongoing pandemic and rising fuel prices.”

According to him, Joyride Car seeks “not just to be another player in the market but a viable and highly competitive option in the car-hailing landscape.”

“We are very excited to have Joyride Car as one of the newest services available in our superapp. As always, we remain committed to providing value-for-money quality service to the public through the use of a powerful and scalable technology platform,” he added.

It can be recalled that the LTFRB allowed Joyride to operate as a transport network company (TNC) last February 24. Around 5,000 drivers have already signed up to join its fleet.

Joyride started as a motorcycle-taxi firm in December 2019 and since then, it has served millions of rides in Metro Manila and Metro Cebu.

    Joyride's Certificate of Accreditation

From being a motorcycle ride-hailing app, it now offers multiple services like transportation, deliveries, shopping, and more — similar to the service that can be seen in the Grab app.

"We continue to grow faster than ever, because, for us, this is just the beginning of our endless pursuit of providing quality service, innovation, and empowerment to help the millions of Filipinos achieve digital inclusion and make living their lives a lot easier,” Eala noted.

The Joyride Superapp has the following services in the mobile device app:

    • Joyride MC Taxi (motorcycle ride-hailing)
    • Joyride Delivery (express motorcycle deliveries)
    • Joyride Pabili (buy-for-me services)
    • Joyride Taxicle (tricycle ride-hailing)
    • Happy Move (two-wheel and four-wheel courier deliveries for business)
    • JR Mall (online marketplace for food, groceries, and other non-food items)
    • Buy Load
    • COVID-19 Home Testing

Joyride is operating in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Baguio, and Metro Cebu.
