Team Toyota PH heads to Gazoo Racing GT Cup Asia regional rounds

The newly-formed trio of e-racers from the third season of the Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR) Gran Turismo (GT) Cup Philippines will be competing against some of the best racers online at the event’s upcoming Asia Regional Rounds.

Sporting Class Champion Estefano Rivera, Sporting Class Runner-up Russel Reyes, and Promotional Class Champion Topher Tejada will be representing the country's colors as they battle it out against their counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) said that the decision came “as part of the accolades for the GR GT Cup Philippines 2022", where the champions from each class are given the opportunity to represent the country as Team Toyota Philippines. 

“Meanwhile, the third and last spot is awarded to the Sporting Class runner-up as the next best player from the pool of winners,” the leading local automotive distributor explained in a statement.

The Filipino e-racers, amid their preparations for the nearing Asia Regional legs, visited the Toyota booth at the final day of the recently-concluded 8th Philippine International Motor Show. Rivera, Reyes, and Tejada for a quick practice play with visitors at the event as well as met fans and invited them for support at the forthcoming races.

The first leg of the Asia regional finals will be broadcasted on October 9, 6 p.m. at the Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Facebook pages.
