2019 TOYOTA YARIS
The Toyota Yaris is one of the most popular hatchbacks in the Philippine market, rivaling the likes of the Honda Jazz, Ford Fiesta, and Hyundai Accent. The Yaris is a tad bigger than the Wigo, which gives it more cargo space and a bigger cabin.
The 2019 Yaris is available in three variants: the base model starts at P 880,000, while the top-of-the-line variant is priced at P 1,045,000. There are two engine options for the Yaris, a 1.3-liter or a 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i, 4-Cylinder In-Line DOHC, 16 Valve EFI engine.
The Yaris has been redesigned for 2019, featuring updated headlights, grille, and bumpers. The revamped look of the Yaris makes it stand out from its previous models.
TFrom the front, the Yaris’ updated hood gives it a more futuristic and aggressive look. The sharp, sporty lines of the front extend to the sides, showcasing the 15-inch alloy wheels. The Yaris measures 4,145 mm in length, 1,730 mm wide, and 1,500 mm high.
The interior of the Yaris is user-focused and practical. The cabin features a black theme, accentuated with some silver trim. The Yaris features soft fabric seats, with the rear seats folding down in a 60:40 split in order to increase cargo room. There’s also a seven-inch touch screen display audio, and there are four speakers all throughout the cabin (six if you opt for the top-of-the-line variant.)
Safety Tech Feature
The Yaris comes packed with notable safety equipment that you will need for a reliable daily driver. The Yaris has dual front, side, curtain shield, and driver knee airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, and Anti-Lock Brake System. The top-of-the line Yaris comes standard with an alarm and immobilizer, as well as smart entry and speed-sensing door locks.
The Yaris can be powered by a 1.3-liter gasoline engine that makes 98 hp and 123 Nm of torque, or a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that increases the power to 106 hp and 140 Nm of torque. The 1.5-liter Yaris is mated into a continuously variable transmission (CVT), while the 1.3-liter engine can have either a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT as well.
The 2019 Yaris is available in seven color options: (1) Citrus Mica Metallic, (2) freedom White, (3) Thermalyte, (4) Gray Metallic, (5) Attitude Black, (6) Red Mica Metallic, (7) Orange Metallic.

The latest Toyota Yaris models come to the market with two engine choices to choose from; a 1.3-liter DOHC VVT-I gasoline engine which supplies 89 horsepower and 84 Nm of torque and a 1.5-liter version of the same engine with Super ECT that produces 105 horsepower and 103 Nm of torque. With the 1.5-liter engine, the Yaris comes mated with 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 11.5 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h. With the 1.3-liter engine however, the Yaris comes with a 4-speed automatic transmission that allows it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 14 seconds, before it reaches its top speed of 165 km/h.
The Toyota Yaris Suspension system employs an independent MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam with stabilizer bar. The setup is pretty basic, and this lends to the Yaris feeling jittery over rough surfaces and road ridges can give the interior cabin a huge jolt. Nevertheless, the car’s small dimensions, light steering and conservative turning radius make it highly maneuverable in tight spots and spaces.
