MANILA: The 20th edition of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) served as both a platform for launching new vehicle models and a celebration of the motoring expo’s second decade.

    Car launches

    As mentioned earlier, it has been a tradition for most automotive brands in the Philippines to have premieres at MIAS. On that note, here are some of the models that were unveiled or officially rolled out during the show.

    Changan PH presents 4 NEVs

    Changan Cars Philippines wowed attendees with a four-car salvo during MIAS 2025. Three of the said vehicles came from the Changan 101 line, which we have listed here:

    • Changan Nevo Q05
    • Changan Nevo Hunter K50 REEV (Range-extended Electric Vehicle)
    • Changan Nevo A05 PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

    The fourth car presented was the Changan Lumin compact electric car.

    MG PH delivers 2-punch combo

    Morris Garages (MG) Philippines, on the other hand, delivered a two-punch combo by presenting the following models during the auto expo:

    • MG D90 4WD
    • MG ZS HEV

    In addition, the company also launched its new campaign dubbed “Made Global, Made Great.”

    Hyundai PH unveils all-new Elantra

    Hyundai Motor Philippines has unveiled the all-new Elantra at MIAS 2025.

    The South Korean car brand offers the latest iteration of the compact sedan in two trims:

    • Hyundai Elantra N Line
    • Hyundai Elantra Hybrid Premium

    Suzuki PH brings in all-new Dzire

    For Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s automobile division’s part, it brought in the newest version of the Dzire subcompact sedan.

    Now looking more mature and packing more intelligent features, the refreshed nameplate also uses a more sustainable hybrid powertrain.

    Chery Auto PH presents 3 all-new models

    UAAGI-led Chery Auto Philippines made good use of its allotted time at MIAS 2025 by presenting three all-new models.

    Further, the latest Chery Tiggo 2 Pro was also showcased at the fair.

    GWM PH brings in new Cannon

    Great Wall Motor (GWM) Philippines has brought heavy artillery to the 20th MIAS by introducing the latest version of the best-selling pickup truck in China — the Cannon.

    In addition, it teased the Haval H9, which is expected to be sold later in the year.

    GAC unleashes M8 PHEV

    GAC Motor Philippines has launched the hybrid version of the M8 multi-purpose vehicle.

    The latest iteration of the nameplate is expected to go on sale in the third quarter of 2025 with a sticker price a little over P4 million.

    Nissan PH displays one-off versions Terra, Navara

    Keeping the banner of Japanese carmakers afloat is Nissan Philippines.

    The company presented the 55th Anniversary Editions of its famous sport utility vehicle and pickup truck, namely the Terra and Navara.

    BAIC PH rolls out new off-roaders

    Not to be outdone, BAIC Philippines presented two new off-road-ready vehicles, which we have listed here:

    • BAIC B40 Pro Trail Master
    • BAIC B60e Beaumont rEV

    According to the carmaker, these are offered with a five-year or a 150,000-kilometer (km) warranty, strengthening their value proposition to outdoor enthusiasts here in the country.

    Lynk & Co. PH debuts all-new 02

    Adding some Swedish flair to the annual motor show is Lynk & Co. Philippines.

    The lovechild of Geely and Volvo, amazed attendees by revealing the all-new Lnk & Co. 02, which offers plenty of technological features packed in a sleek-looking electric crossover.

    Foton PH uncovers Wonder LCV

    Breaking the passenger car momentum was Foton Philippines, who introduced a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) in the form of the Wonder.

    Looking to go toe-to-toe — or wheel-to-wheel for that matter — with the next-generation Toyota Tamaraw, is a double-carb configuration that can serve as a reliable business partner to many Filipinos.

    Jetour PH doubles down with 2 Lightning i-DM models

    With much fanfare, Jetour Auto Philippines Incorporated presented two new electrified models at MIAS 2025.

    These were the Jetour Lightning i-DM and T2 Lightning i-DM. The vehicles bolster the marque’s sustainable models and look to bring more customers to the fold.

    Aito PH enters auto arena

    Serving as a preview of what’s to come is Aito Philippines’ display at the auto expo.

    The Aito M9 (offered in the following variants) proved to be a head-turner:

    • Max AWD REEV
    • Ultra AWD
    • Ultra RWD

    Jaecoo teases J7 SHS

    Jaecoo, the twin company of Omoda, teased an upcoming model.

    The Jaecoo J7 Super Hybrid System (SHS) is a hybrid vehicle that can cover up to 1,500 km of range.

    VinFast PH joins MIAS, adds VF 6 to lineup

    VinFast Philippines appears to have no plans on stopping its intention to dominate the local electric car market by joining MIAS and adding yet another vehicle to its roster.

    Presented at the auto show was the VinFast VF 6, a compact crossover that appears to have both style and sustainability dialed down to a tee.
