MIAS 2022: Firing on all cylinders with packed opening day

  • The highly-anticipated 2022 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), with the help of the event organizer Worldbex Services International (WSI), opened its doors today to welcome Filipino car and motorcycle enthusiasts, presenting them a smorgasbord of vehicle presentations and a slew of aftermarket parts and accessories on the side.

    “With the goal of setting the gears back in motion, MIAS will once again gather everyone in the automotive industry to deliver its promise of a thrilling experience for its visitors and productive results for its partners and stakeholders. As the leading automotive trade show in the country, MIAS will showcase the biggest automotive brands locally and internationally. Aiming to set the gears in motion, MIAS will boost the industry by promoting the innovative features of the different car brands and initiate direct interactions between car manufacturers and clients, and most importantly, contribute to the steady rise of the automotive industry,” said WSI Founding Chairman Joseph Ang.

    Event openers included French carmaker Peugeot who brought the brand-new 2008; Subaru with the refreshed Forester model and the BRZ; and Changan who showcased the electrified Eado EV460.

    Showing the crowd how it’s done is British precision driver Russ Swift who pulled out a couple of exciting stunts for his 14th MIAS appearance.

    Other brands whose presence was undoubtedly felt during the motoring event included Volvo with its electrified lineup; Nissan showcasing its e-Power powertrain; and Geely with the refreshed Coolray.

    Also in attendance were Chery who brought in the new Tiggo 8 Pro; Foton with the Thunder pickup truck; and JAC, which presented its X100.

    Attendees of the event opener will also see a rally car display on the Petron booth as well as witness the much-awaited Automobile Association Philippines Motorsports Awards Night, both of which are event partners.

    MIAS 2022 is scheduled from April 7 to 10 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
