Nissan PH Reveals Five Updated Models Led By Nissan GT-R Nismo

While most carmakers tend to keep things close to their chest when it comes to what models they'll be bringing in for the year, Nissan Philippines (NPI) did the opposite by revealing the five models it will update for 2018 led by the Nissan GT-R Nismo.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo is basically a GT-R that has been dialed up to 11, thanks to the addition of various carbon-fiber bits like the front splitter, rear diffuser, side skirts, and even the trunk and the more aggressive rear wing. Inside, the GT-R Nismo gets a black and red theme, with suede used all around the cabin down to the Nismo-badged Recaro seats while the steering wheel itself is wrapped in Alcantara leather.

Besides these cosmetic updates, Nismo--Nissan's in-house performance and motorsport brand--worked on nearly everything else with the GT-R. The 3.8-liter V6 has been fitted with larger turbos to boost the output up to 600 hp, the suspension has been tuned further with Bilstein components, lightweight 20-inch Rays forged-alloy wheels are used on all four corners, and adhesive bonding was added to key spot welds to increase the rigidity of the body shell even further.

While NPI has yet to reveal the price of the Nissan GT-R Nismo, we've been told that it will be in the P12 million range.

As for the other models NPI will be updating for the year, these are: the Nissan Urvan Premium, which is a luxurious take on the standard NV350 Urvan and is actually a dealer option; the Nissan Juke N-Style variant, which is a Juke fitted with a sporty body kit; and the Nissan Patrol, which has a subtly-updated front fascia and now comes with a Tan interior option.

NPI also revealed another model it'll reveal to the local market in February but we've been asked to not divulge any details about it until then, so stay tuned.
