It was last April when we published the story that the The Covenant Car Company, Inc. TCCCI) will be introducing the Chevrolet Tracker late this year. However, the timeline we published was a bit off after Carmudi Philippines received an invite from the Golden Bowtie’s local distributor announcing that launch will happen in July.
And since we are so giddy for its forthcoming launch, here are some bits of information prior to the media launch tomorrow (July 1).
Based on the tip we received, the Chevrolet Tracker, which is a product of the SAIC-General Motors partnership, will have two variants: the LS and the Red Line.
Set to replace the Chevrolet Trax in the market, the two varieties are powered by a 1.0-liter Ecotec engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with active thermal management system. This powertrain package is relatively small compared to those that it will be rivalling in the market such as the Nissan Juke, the Kia Seltos, the Hyundai Kona, the Honda BR-V, the Ford Ecosport and the Geely Coolray.
The Chevrolet Tracker is expected to be fitted with an infotainment system with eight-inch screen, front and rear seat armrests, and safety features such as four airbags, cornering brake control, traction control, Pre Crash Brake Assist (PBA) and Hill Start Assist.
The higher-tiered model Redline will be equipped with a sunroof, LED lighting, skid plates and enhanced audio system.
Expect the pricing to range from P1.1 million to P1.3 million. We'll give you more details after the launch.
