Back in June,
we wrote about the Toyota Corolla Sport hatchback. Now, just a month shy of the
2018 Paris Motor Show where it'll make its public debut, we bring you the
Toyota Corolla Touring Sports wagon.
Designed and developed in Europe, the Corolla Touring Sports utilizes the
Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) GA-C platform, and with a wheelbase of
2,700 mm, the wagon has a
class-leading rear-seat passenger legroom.
Expectedly, the Corolla Touring Sports has the same front-end design as the hatch, which Toyota calls as
'Under Priority Catamaran' design. The sweeping roofline though and the slanted rear windscreen gives the car the form of a shooting brake. Further giving the car a sporty vibe are its flared wheel arches which emphasize the vehicle's wider stance and lower center of gravity.
Inside, the Corolla Touring Sports has a spacious and modern cabin with new textures, colors , and trim combinations, "offering customers the highest level of sensory quality." According to Toyota, with its new GA-C platform , the wagon has a
lower front-seat hip point which
lowers the vehicle's center of gravity and gives its driver a
more engaging driving position. Cargo-carrying capacity is also something that the Corolla Touring Sports excels in with
598 liters for the cargo area.
The Corolla Touring Sports runs on a
MacPherson strut front and an
all-new multilink rear suspension system,
new shock absorber valve technology, and, for the first time,
Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS).
Reflective of Toyota's continued focus on hybrid technology, the Corolla Touring Sports only has one conventional engine--a
turbocharged 116 hp, 1.2-liter gasoline-fed mill--and a choice of either a
122 hp, 1.8-liter or
180 hp, 2.0-liter hybrid powertrains.
