The Hilux is renowned for being one of the most reliable and hardy workhorses in its class. The Philippines version was recently upgraded with improved looks. Driving the vehicle is a real pleasure. The turbocharged 2.8-liter diesel motor outputs a healthy 201bhp. Negotiating tight corners at a low speed is painless, courtesy the light steering wheel. The cabin has a healthy dose of dimensionality which is found in all Toyota vehicles mounted on this platform. The ride quality is a bit rough compared to its competitors. But the cabin space is more than sufficient for a pickup truck in its class.
