Punchy engine makes the difference
The Toyota Hilux isn’t a comfortable vehicle to be in. But the 2.4-litre diesel engine with AWD makes all the difference. The motor gives a punchy performance and you can take the Hilux across any terrain. It’s a powerful as a fully loaded twin-cab pickup with all cargo. The engine itself is not smooth and has a fair amount of grunt audible inside the cabin. The pretty high driving position and the large windscreen gives a great view of the road. The cabin is pretty basic and ride quality is average. But the Hilux is sturdily built to withstand years of use.
