Used cars in Davao

The Davao Region is one of the fastest rising regions in the country. Its most prominent metropolis, Davao City, is one of the most populous cities in the Philippines with 1.4 million residents.
Davao is known for exporting quality agricultural products such as bananas, durian and cocoa. Despite being heavily hit by typhoon Pablo in 2012, the region continues to be one of the country’s top economic contributors.
Second hand cars in Davao
Much like other regions in the Philippines, Davao City has one of the largest concentrations of vehicles in the country. The most popular public transportations in the area are buses, taxis, jeepneys and multicabs.
The region is also known as the main distributor of vehicles to every part of Mindanao, particularly used cars. The port of Davao which stretches along Davao Gulf is a strategic facility for products that are imported to or exported from the region.
The busy streets of J.P. Laurel Avenue houses most of the car dealerships in Davao which sell brands like Kia, Toyota, Honda and Nissan. Some of the most popular car models in the region are: the Chevrolet Spark, Ford Everest, and Kia Carens. In May 2014, Japanese brand Mazda opened their dealership network in the city.
Car related crimes in Davao

While second hand cars have a strong following in the region, Davao is also known for its black market of stolen cars. Every year, thousands of cars are seized all over the region especially at Davao port.
How to check if a car is stolen
A buyer who bought a stolen car without prior knowledge of it, may not be liable for a criminal case. As a responsible citizen, reporting such an incident is an obligation. One of the easiest ways to check if your vehicle has been stolen is to locate every Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) sticker and check if they all match. If one of the stickers does not match the other ones, chances are that part of the car was replaced on purpose to make it harder for the authorities to track the original owner of the car.
