Nissan updates Terra VL variant

Nissan in the Philippines is closing the first month of 2021 by introducing the updated Nissan Terra VL variant.

The upgraded variant of the midsize SUV now sports an improved overall look from the inside and out, giving the Nissan Terra a bolder appeal.

The exterior changes for the new Nissan Terra VL include gloss black accents on the radiator grille, front bumper, fog lamps, door handles, side steps and door mirrors. Aside from that, a touch of elegance can also be seen as it is also fitted with dark chrome rear license plate finisher while sitting on gloss black alloy wheels.

Vehicle occupants will be welcomed by dual-tone leather seat trims and dark chrome accents around the interior of the vehicle, exuding that athletic yet stylish vibe.

But aside from the trimmings here and there, the new Nissan Terra VL still got some love in the tech department as the upgraded version is mounted with a host of Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies in the Nissan Advanced Display Audio system.

The latest introduction follows the success of the local distributor for the Japanese automaker last year. Based on the combined automotive industry sales report, Nissan in the Philippines was among the top three marques in the country in terms of sales, cornering 8.9 percent of the market.

Nissan’s volume drivers for 2020 were the Nissan Navara pick-up with 42.1 percent, Nissan Urvan with 23.6 percent share and the Terra with 17.9 percent.

Nissan in the Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima said that despite the challenges of the past year, they were able to pool their efforts “from the passion of its people and the heritage of the brand.”

"In 2020, we explored and executed innovative ways to reach our customers by introducing more digital and online solutions. We were also able to reach out to our communities through our donations to the Philippine Red Cross and to our medical frontliners, as well as partner with the Department of Tourism to advocate the revival of the Philippine economy. There may be challenges in this new year, but with the safety of our employees, partners, customers and communities on top, we are ready to take them on with a renewed spirit of boldness and daring the impossible," Najima said.

Just last week, Nissan in the Philippines announced the halting of operations for the production of the Almera.
