The Philippine Government has now relaxed its COVID-19 lockdown measures in certain areas of the country, transitioning from the stringent enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) to the more lenient general community quarantine (GCQ).

The GCQ allows certain commercial entities to resume operations, albeit at a limited capacity to limit the spread of the disease and avoid another wave of infections.

In line with the GCQ, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced that certain dealerships in its network are now ready to serve customers once again.

To ensure the continued protection of its patrons against COVID-19, TMP said that it has prepared new standard operating procedures (SOPs) and comprehensive precautionary measures that adhere to Department of Health (DOH) and World Health Organization (WHO) protocols.

According to TMP, he following Toyota dealerships located GCQ areas have resumed operations:

Luzon

  • Toyota La Union
  • Toyota Isabela
  • Toyota Tuguegarao
  • Toyota Calapan
  • Toyota Puerto Princesa
  • Toyota Camarines Sur

Visayas

  • Toyota Roxas
  • Toyota Negros Occidental
  • Toyota Tagbilaran
  • Toyota Tacloban
  • Toyota Calbayog
  • Toyota Dumaguete
  • Toyota Aklan

Mindanao

  • Toyota Cagayan De Oro
  • Toyota Iligan
  • Toyota Valencia
  • Toyota General Santos
  • Toyota Kidapawan
  • Toyota Butuan

TMP requires its dealers to exercise temperature checking of both customers and employees, as well perform regular disinfection of the entire facility, with higher frequency for common areas such as showrooms and reception areas.

Some dealers had to change the layout of common areas to ensure strict observance of social distancing. Dealers will also have to limit the number of persons inside the dealership premises at any given time to allow for the effective implementation of social distancing protocol. Customers are highly encouraged to set appointments before visiting the dealer to avoid inconvenience.

In addition, dealers will only be accommodating confirmed service appointments. Customers can book their service schedule easily through the recently launched digital tool MyToyota PH.

For those who have purchased their car using Toyota Financial Services Philippines, TMP is extending payment terms for their customers. Expiring insurance policies under Toyota Insure and warranty coverages for Toyota vehicles are also extended until after the ECQ is lifted.

Likewise, Toyota vehicles scheduled for periodic maintenance services (PMS) are also given a grace period after the quarantine is lifted.

“While we are facing challenging times, this also presents an opportunity to come back better and stronger, to review our current processes and find improvements, to constantly provide ever better products and services, and to make our team members’, customers’, and partners’ lives safer and more convenient.” says TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto.

“The new normal will take a while to get used to but together we can overcome this. Stay home, stay safe, and please observe precautionary measures if you need to go out. We are working hard to prepare our dealerships and ensuring that everyone will be safe upon their visit,” he added.

TMP halted operations at its dealership network beginning March 17, 2020.
