CAMPI-TMA Apr. 2026 sales drop by 12%
MANILA: The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers in the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) has sold 132,867 vehicles in the first four months of 2026.
In their joint report, the two groups experienced an 11.8-percent drop as their January-April 2025 retail performance was at 150,654.
For April 2026 alone, CAMPI and TMA collectively had a 27,225-unit sales churn—reflecting a 24.6-percent decrease over the 36,104-unit sales churn in March 2026 and 18.9-percent less compared to the 33,580 units for the same month the previous year.

The commercial vehicle segment—which is the main sales driver for CAMPI and TMA—turned over 107,121 units to clients. Although its market share slightly grew to 80.62 percent, the number of vehicles handed over to buyers decreased by 10.6 percent from 119,824.
Meanwhile, passenger car sales only had 25,746 units for the initial four months of the year—sliding down by 16.5 percent.
CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza said in a statement that “while the market has not fully recovered from last year’s second semester slowdown, this was further affected by the oil crisis with customers carefully considering their car purchase.”
CAMPI-TMA Apr. 2026 YTD sales drivers
Providing the biggest sales thrust for CAMPI-TMA as of April 2026 is Toyota Motor Philippines with 66,206 units—taking 49.08-percent of the overall churn. Amid that, the numbers showed an eight-percent reduction from the 71,927 units sold in January-April 2025.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation kept the second after getting 18.34 percent share of the market with 24,371 vehicles sold. They too, experienced an 18.1-percent slide year on year.
Photo by Ruben Manahan IVSuzuki Philippines Incorporated held the third spot (4.73 percent market share) after selling 6,289 units. Nissan was not far behind after delivering 5,323 examples (4.01 percent).
Ford Motor Company Philippines took the fifth place in the CAMPI-TMA power rankings from Honda Cars Philippines after the former had 4,877 units sold. The latter, on the other hand, slid down two places after handing over a total of 4,440 units.

Additionally, newly added CAMPI members Geely Motors Philippines and Luxuriant Automotive Group Incorporated (distributor of GWM in the country) reported to the group that they have sold 1,119 and 147 units respectively.
xEV sales continue rise
Electrified vehicle (xEV) sales continue to spike up in the January-April 2026 timeline as its overall performance reflected a 158-percent growth year on year—selling a total of 6,820 vehicles. This represents 13.29 percent share of the overall market.
Leading the charge for this segment are the models under the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) segment, which sold 12,368 examples and cornering 70.05-percent share of the local xEV market.
Photo by Ruben Manahan IVPlug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) enjoyed the biggest jump in terms of percentage as its sales grew 2,531 percent year-on-year—retailing 2,579 units as compared to the 98 units sold in January-April 2026.
Battery electric vehicle (BEV) April year-to-date sales took 15.34 percent share of the market after 2,708 units were bought for the initial four months of the year.
“The customers are very much aware of what’s practical during these times thus the increased demand for energy efficient vehicles like xEVs and lower displacement, fuel-efficient Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles,” Atienza explained.
