That said, here is a quick look at how one of the country’s most anticipated automotive spectacles started.

    Inspired by international auto conventions

MIAS was inspired by international automotive conventions, according to the event’s organizers.

Back then, motoring writers Jason and Ulysses Ang as well as Alvin Uy approached Worldbex Services International (WSI) Chairman Joseph Ang to establish an auto summit that is similar to the shows attended by the three.

The goal was to establish an international-grade and industry-based show that will highlight the local automotive industry’s passion and drive for innovation.

“We (the writers) took inspiration from attending international auto shows and we international auto shows and we international auto shows and we experience for the Philippine auto buyers and enthusiasts,” the WSI head honcho noted.

On that note, Ang (Joseph) used his experience and know-how to hold the first-ever show in April 2005.

It was said that Ang (Joseph) created the event as a tribute to his late father, who was a car dealer and was involved in the automotive industry before his passing.

Since then, MIAS has received recognition from international brands as well as being the go-to place for manufacturers who will introduce new models into the market.

This year, here are the following companies that will participate:

Truck brands Sinotruk, JAC and FAW will also join the motoring spectacle.

Additionally, the event got support from various organizations, such as the following:

    • Automobile Association of the Philippines
    • Tuason Racing School
    • Car Awards Group Incorporated

Further, MIAS gets support from companies like BPI Auto Loans, Petron, and Shell.

“Be driven by connections and celebrate our 20 years of automotive excellence when you come to the Manila International Auto Show 2025, happening from April 10 to 13, 2025, at the World Trade Center Metro Manila,” the organization said in a press release.
