New and Used Hyundai Coupe for Sale Philippines

Hyundai Coupe for sale Philippines | Hyundai Coupe price Philippines | Silver Hyundai Coupe

The Hyundai Coupe, also known as the Hyundai Tuscani and Hyundai Tiburon in other markets (it is known as the Hyundai Turbulence in its home country, South Korea), is a compact sports coupe produced by Hyundai. It ran from 1996 to 2008, spanning two generations—the first from 1996 to 2001, and the second from 2001 to 2008. The Coupe started out as an ungainly and unrefined speedster. At the time, Hyundai was still trying to get rid of its B-class status, and though the Coupe was no match for the competition in its class, the improvements in comparison to what came before were obvious and significant. The good news is that these significant improvements kept coming year after year, and by 2007, the Coupe became a confident, accomplished, and enviable sports car.

Despite scoring a hit with the 2008 Coupe, Hyundai eventually decided that the vehicle had to evolve, and thus replaced it with the sleeker and more nuanced Hyundai Veloster.

Hyundai Coupe Review in the Philippines

Hyundai Coupe Specs and Performance

The Coupe was available in two engine choices—an inline 4-cylinder 2.0-liter and a 2.7-liter V6. Both are gas engines. The 2.0-liter Hyundai Coupe engine was capable of 138 hp, and was equipped in the base GS trim. The 172-hp 2.7-liter V6 engine on the other hand, can be found in the Coupe’s other two trims. In terms of performance, the Coupe could speed up from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds, and achieve a top speed of 136 mph.

Upon test drive, the steering is confident and quick, albeit a little too quick at times during turn-ins. If you plan to drive a Hyundai Coupe out of the used cars for sale lot, be careful not to wear wide-toe shoes, as the three pedals are a little too close to each other for comfort.

Hyundai Coupe Fuel Consumption

The Hyundai Coupe Philippines was one of the first vehicles to have an all-aluminum engine, which helped the vehicle achieve better fuel efficiency than many of its rivals because of its ability to stay cool longer. As mentioned, Hyundai kept improving the Coupe with every year of its release, and fuel consumption was one of the biggest recipients of these improvements.

Second hand Hyundai Coupe fuel consumption:

  • Hyundai Coupe 2008: 9.3 l/100km average rating
  • Hyundai Coupe 2007: 9.4 l/100km average rating
  • Hyundai Coupe 2006: 9.7 l/100km average rating
  • Hyundai Coupe 2005: 9.5 l/100km average rating

Hyundai Coupe Features

Hyundai Coupe Convenience and Entertainment Features

The Hyundai Coupe suffers from what all coupes are guilty of—a miniscule rear cabin. Though the front seats can fit practically any-sized adults, the rear bench seat is only good for children 12 years old and younger. That said, bachelors who live life on the fast lane will find plenty to enjoy in this Hyundai car, including the nifty features listed below:

  • AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system
  • 6-speakers
  • Power moonroof
  • Speed control
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Tilt steering wheel

Hyundai Coupe Safety Features

The Hyundai Coupe did garner some impressive scores from various crash testing bodies, most notable of which was the 5-star rating it received from the NHTSA for its front impact safety. For side impact and rollover resistance on the other hand, the Hyundai Coupe earned a respectable 4 out of 5 stars. The Coupe’s safety features are built to impress, as you can see from this slight sampling:

  • Anti-lock Braking System with Brake Assist
  • Dual front and side impact airbags
  • Occupant sensing airbag
  • Traction control
  • Stability control
  • Panic alarm

Hyundai Coupe Design

Hyundai Coupe Interior

It’s surprising that even as an almost decade-old car, the Coupe’s interior doesn’t feel dated at all. A lot of credit goes to the ultra-cool blue lighting on the instrument panel. The rest of the Coupe’s impressive interior features include:

  • Tire pressure warning system
  • Front beverage holders
  • Leather steering wheel & seats
  • Front center armrest with storage
  • Split-folding bench rear seats
  • Bucket front seats

Hyundai Coupe Exterior

The Hyundai Coupe borrows a lot of styling cues from some of the biggest names in its class, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The 2008 Coupe featured a very muscular looking hood reminiscent of the Ford Mustang, meanwhile, the front end bears some resemblance to the Jaguar XK. Overall, the Hyundai Coupe appears elegant, aerodynamic, and sleek, and is worth the price of entry based on looks alone.

  • Heated door mirrors
  • Rear spoiler
  • Dual exhaust
  • 2-door setup
  • Power door mirrors
  • Rear window defroster

Hyundai Coupe Color Options

The 2008 Hyundai Coupe was available in 19 different paint finishes. Six of the favorite options are listed below:

  • Sunny Yellow
  • Poppy Red Dark Navy Pearl
  • Sky Blue Metallic
  • Triton Green Mica
  • New Silver Metallic
  • Tidal Wave Metallic
